I am very intrestimg in the new unit that focuses on Essay writing. When focussing on an essay my first thought is that essays are very structured. Essays include introduction body paragraphs and a well thought out conclusion. I am not a fan of writing essays because there judged so harshly. For instance, when I was in High school the essays that had to prepare me for major exams like the am ACT. I didn't like the state your opinion essays they were so bland. There was no life in writing essays, for along time until I started my college English courses. The topics were interesting sometimes. I like writing but essays are my least favorite. I have always wrote good essays but I felt like my essays were boring nothing really stuck out to me because of the topics I probaly was given.
          One of the first stories that were interesting  to me in the Essay packet was the story Mute Dancers: How to watch a Huming bird. I liked all the facts about the humming bird. I wasn't reall familiar with some of the things that were said about the humming bird. For example I didn't know a Humming bird ate evert 15 mintues. One other intestering statement was that "If you frighten a Humming Bird and it's heart can race to over 1,200 times a minute. I never knew that. The author was very fascinated with humming birds. The author was exploring the rain forest when she was stating all of the facts about the humming bird. I liked reading this story because the humming bird is a very peaceful creature that sings in it's own way. I liked the authors way of describing the humming bird. For example the title itself gave me understanding of the humming bird being a mute dancer.
                I have also had the opportunity to read the story lenses. The story lenses was very interesting to read. One point in the stortbthstvwas interesting  to me was that the character in the story was looking through the lenses the entire time in the story. The theme of the story seem to be nature. The character in the sorry observered everything in the pond. For example, according to  this statement through binoculars I followed the swans, swinging where they flew. The author gave a very great description about the swans. For instance the author states that All their feathers were white, their eyes were black.the wing span was six feet, they were big than I was. They flew unison. It was  interesting how the character watching the swans actually told the readers what the story was about before readers could figure it out, this statement gave readers an understanding But, oddly this is a story about swans, it is not even a story, it is a description of swans. This story was well writen.
         

Writing response Night Women

     
        Night Women was an very interesting story to read. As I was reading I instantly got an idea of how the women in the story was protrayed. For instance, the women is the story states There are two kinds of women day women and night women. I'm stuck between day and night in a golden Amber bronze. These statements helped me to understand that the women in the story was mysterious and had another life at night. When I continued to read I came to realize that her night life was hidden from her child in the story. For example she states  my body freezes as I wonder how long it would take for him to cross the curtain and find me. She was paranoid of her son seeing her night life job.
         The women in the story seems as if she had slot of pride she wants to make a better life for her and her son. Even if she has to sleep around with different suitors she still wants to make a living for her and her son. The women in the story describes her living conditions. For instance she states that the small holes in the roof that none of my suitors will fix for me. She also describes how her son in bitten by Mosquitos. She states he slaps the mosquitoes dead on his face without even waking. The women in the story seems like she isn't really unshamed of where she lives because she still has the suitors come to her home. She states they like to watch scrap of the sky while lying on their naked backs on my mat. The suitors seem to be unbothered as well, about the way her living conditions are.
      Night women was a very interesting story. One statement that the women said really caught my eye was when she said There is a place in the Vile Roae where ghost women rude the crests of waves brushing the stars out. I wondered who she was talking about? I didn't know if she was talking about the suitors wife's or the previous women who had night jobs like her. When she described ghost women brushing stars out of their hair, she may have been talking about the suitors returning home to there wife's with things that resemble her, as if she was a star. I'm not sure what she was talking about but it was interestong trying to piece the puzzle together about who she was referring too.

The Girl with the Blackend eye

              After reading the stories from the fiction packet the story that caught my eye was The Girl with the Blackend Eye. The girl with the Blackend eye was one the most deepest stories I read. Joyce Oates was very creative and vivid details in this story. Everything that happened in this story seemed to be so real. For instance, in beginning of the story, she states When they found me, my hair was wild and tangled like broom safe. It couldn't be combed through, had to be cut from my head clumps. something sticky like cobwebs was in it. I could visualize everything that she described about herself.
        When I read the first page of the story I automatically thought that the story was about a women being abused by her spouse. As I read on, the story developed into a women who 27 years old telling about her past when she was 15 years old. Something that was significant to me was when she described what it was like to be forcibly abducted. For example she states Forcibly abducted is like being in a plane crash, or struck by lightening, there wouldn't be any human agent almost. That specific statement blew my mind I couldn't even imagine anything like that to happen to someone.
        The women in the story was very strong and wise. I think that women everywhere should read this story because maybe they have had the same experience or have went through abuse with a spouse. This story could help a women as well tell her story even though this is a fictional story it still could impact a women's life someday. This story gave me a lot of insight and knowledge on victim s who have been abused. This story opened my eyes to a lot of  things in life that could affect some one. This story may encourage some women to speak out and help other women who are silently holding on to there secrets and not telling family and friends what they have been through.
         The Girl with Blackend eye was actually one of my favorite stories to read. I could actually see this story on the lifetime. I couldn't stop reading this story every expect was deep.  One part that I flund to bf touching is when the narrator thought she was dreaming so she made this statement No one will ever know. She kept her secret for 27 years. She even seen images of the msn who abducted her in her present life. I think this story was brillant, because it seemed so real. Good read for me!
