writing response Tocaqueville

After reading Khaled Mattawa Tocaqueville, I was amazed how every line was descriptive and I felt like I was in the area he described. For instance he stated  that ''This country will consume  forty five million metric tons of beef, thirty two million of pork. I could envision the entire farm and the animals. The poem was hard to understand at first, I had re read it to get a better understanding.
The way he put the information seemed to me as if he was actually on the farm. The scenery seemed so beautiful and peaceful. Description and his artistic ability made me admire nature  a bit more. I didn't know that  a farm or any surroundings could be described in so many words and there was so many different things that were described on the farm. For instance, he described the air the scent and breeze. I thought that a description of the air made me feel like I could feel the breeze, everything seemed to realistically I think that I will continue to re read this particular poem over over to get a better understanding. This poem actually makes me feel at ease.
The poem was brilliant but confusing. I  like the fact that some poems are hard to understand sometimes. I like putting the pieces together and trying to figure out what goes together.  The thongs that come to my mind when reading Rocaqueville  is that did the author want draw readers to the beauty of nature or did he want readers to understand the economic and wellness of our country. things will fall into place eventually when I go through each line a couple of more times.

Writing Down To the Bones

After reading Writing down to the bones, I learned about the importance of Detail. I like the fact that Natilie Goldberg gave so many pointers about adding details to a paper or even a story. I think that details helps the reader understand what is being talked about in a story or paper. Natilie made a great point in this chapter when she stated that your paper will be believable and truthful just when adding a detailed description. For instance, one example she gave in the chapter was a bar in New Orleans, She described where the bar was, what was in the bar, and the exact location with the street name.
I find Natile Goldberg to be a brilliant writer. I think reading her book can help me develop as a writer. I like that every chapter describes what has to be done point by point. For instance, she starts off one chapter with the supplies that you need before reading paper pen, then she addresses the thought process. Every chapter is helpful, because she actually gives writers the tools before  began to write. I think she is a phenomenal writer because she spreads her gift of writing to others by teaching young writers how to write a story, a poem, or a paper.

One other chapter I read in Writing down to the bones was about writers having an Artistic ability. I agree with Natilie because a writer should have an Artistic ability. Writers should have the ability to be artistic when writing so that readers are interested and so that the writer can form ga unique style in writing. For instance, writers such as Shakespeare and Langston Hughs had unique artistic styles of writing. Readers today enjoy writing poems and sonnets from both writers due to their unique ability. Natilie Goldberge book is a great read and is very helpful I hope to become a better writer just from taking pointers from her.

Writing Response

After reading Ted Berrigans The Sonnets I noticed that Ted Berrigan uses traditional  elements from Shakes spears sonnets. The sonnet was very confusing at first. I had to re read it a of couple times just to get an clear understanding. The third stanza in the Sonnet he states "Of Marilyn Monroe her teeth white I am truly horribly upset because Marilyn ate King Korn"I didn't understand the comparison between Marilyn Monroe's white teeth and king corn pop corn. I wanted to understand what the writer was trying to get at when he said that. Towards the end of the poem. Shakepeare sonnets are hard to understand at first, until I look at the translation or re read it. Both writers have a way with words that makes some readers hard to understand what is being said. I can tell the writer emotions changed he talked about Marilyn Monroe's death. He stated in the poem '' I LOVE YOU" and  after he says that his emotions shift. He says takes the eyes away from gray words, The black heart beside the fifteen pieces. Shakespeare Sonnets have similar emotional changes.

I like the fact that writer incorporated Marilyn Monroe. She had some dark and glorious moments in her life. The author may have gave readers insight of dark and bright aspects of life. Each line  in the  Sonnet The I could sympathize What  the writer was feeling. For instance, he stated ''The Black heart beside the 15 pieces, Monroe died. so I went to a matinee B movie washed by joes throbbing hands.  The author style of writing is similar to Shakespeare but it is very different because the writers emotions were incorporated in the poem, I could actually envision Marilyn Monroes death. The writer is similar to Shakespeare because his deep sorrow he had, some of Shakespeare sonnets were tragedies. I can also get a sense of sorrow when reading his sonnets.

ShakesPeare and Ted Berrigan both draw the audience in using specific words to get the audience attention For instance Ted Berrigan drew me into the poem by saying “He is not in it, the hungry doctor is dead.” Those words ran chills down my spine. I was drawn in instantly. Even in one of Shakes Speares Sonnets. stated that spreads beneath tha sword. In Shakes Peare Sonnet he states that ‘’Those lines that I before have write di lie” I wanted to continue to read further and discover what the lie was about. Ted Berrigan is an brilliant modern day writer and Shakespeare is a classic historical writer from the past. Both writers are phenomenal.
